love & salt

If you are anything like me and hundreds (upon thousands?) of other women out there, you are completely obsessed with achieving that perfectly tousled wavy Cool Girl hair. You know the kind - it's either a long flowy do' with just the slightest hint of a curl or a short beachy-but-not-at-the-beach bob a la Sofia Coppola.

The problem is - waking up with my naturally wavy hair is never a good look. Between bed head, frizz and any leftover oils from the day before, it's a straight up mess. This is where my after shower routine comes in & also my new favorite product Love & Salt.

Now i'm no expert on this and I am surely to be seen every so often with a frizzy halo just like any other human, but after searching for products that didn't make my hair too oily, weighed down or too voluminous, I fell in love with Love & Salt by Olivine Atelier. It is handcrafted with amazingly clean ingredients such as purified water, epsom salts, pink himalayan salt and coconut oil.  I've tossed aside my Bumble & Bumble Beach Spray and use Love & Salt exclusively. After showering, I air dry and then do a little straighten/curl with my flat iron to give it a "Oh, me? This is just me being me..organically!" look.

Once I get to the store, after my hair has been thru a ruckus of city pollution and/or humidity, rain, whatever Brooklyn has in store for me, I spray Love & Salt into my locks and zshush it around with my hands. And i swear to you, reader/shopper, that my hair is instantly brought back to life. I love this product so much that I stock it in A Lovely Universe alongside a peppering of other Olivine Atelier products.

Any of my girls that regularly come into the shop know that I can't stop praising this little hair gem. At the moment, there are only a few left but I encourage you to stop in and give this one a shot. It's only $24 for a good sized 8 oz bottle. Plus, we have tons of adorable sweaters, dresses and jewelry to go along perfectly with your newly effortless hair ;)

ps: have you ever used your flatiron as a curling iron? you simply MUST! it's such a life saver. It takes a bit of practice but once you get the hang of it, you're golden. Here is a great youtube tutorial:
